The Disney Vacation Club is ideal for families that desire to take a vacation every year. With a robust variety of available locations, this thing is just what the doctor ordered!
I'm not getting duped into DVC!
Now I must admit, I was not always a Disney Vacation Club promoter. Truth be told, I was the person remarking under my breath when it seemed like there was a "DVC" presentation area on every corner. I can recall saying to my wife I would under no circumstances enroll in DVC due to the fact they're trying so hard. In fairness, though, no one ever approached me. They were merely on hand just in case I wanted some information. You don't get that far at the booth anyway, instead you arrange a sit down with a DVC associate. This is where it gets sweet. Once you agree to go meet with somebody they will schedule to have your entire family picked up (if you so choose). In Addition to that, the six members in my family were all awarded $15 Disney dollars which can be used like real money. Yes, they basically gave me $90 in cash to just go meet with someone. We honestly used
two of the cards for beer in Downtown Disney. I know, I know, we're rotten. Tell me about it.
The Sit Down
All of us get there by shuttle service which picked us up directly in front of Bay Lake Tower, which is where we were vacationing that exact week. As we ventured into the building we were cordially welcomed with any beverages of our preference, together
with a fantastic show of cookies. I guess it doesn't take very much to excite me - lol. Anyway, in the office we go. This is where I was anticipating the high-pressure sales pitch. After all, they paid me, picked me up, and fed me. It goes without saying that I'm about to recompense for that with a 3 hour energetic sales pitch! Nope. Not a bit. It was the exact opposite. No hassle at all. We essentially had a routine discussion. Our associate was more engaged in establishing a reciprocal chat where he could identify what we were searching for. What we were seeking for was a yearly family vacation in a beautiful resort. We were wishing for a spot that is attractive to little ones, as well as grown-ups. We were aiming for affordable expenses. It just so happened that our desires were just what the Disney Vacation Club had to offer.
The Cost
Well, it isn't cheap. Regardless, if you desire to travel every single year then it works. The entire system is based on points. Each and every point has a value. To stay during peak periods it will cost you extra points. Points go into your "bank" at the very same time each year. The price per point raises annually (so join now!). You will need to figure out is how many "points" you are going to require annually. A family group of 4 is in a far better situation than a family unit of 6. A family group of 4 can schedule a studio which sleeps 4 comfortably. A family of 6 will want a minimum of a 1 bedroom. Obviously the larger the room, the more points you are likely to need. You may to "bank" points. What this means is skip a year, increase the points in your bank. You can also "borrow" points. In the event you desire to consider a monstrous 600 point Hawaii escape, and you merely pay for 300 points per year, you can borrow 300 points from next year and make it transpire. It's a good system. You can browse to Disney's page to obtain the newest point chart.
Now that we're subscribers
Zero regrets! We would absolutely do it all over for a second time. We deed at Bay Lake Tower. This means we have the opportunity to schedule our vacation there 11 months beforehand. This assures we get to "come home" each time we prefer to. Similarly, if we want to book
elsewhere, say the Disney Boardwalk, we would not be able to reserve
there until 7 months out. This promises that individuals who
deed at the Disney Boardwalk can "go home" if they wish to. It's a wonderful system.
What you HAVE TO know
- Most importantly, the price per point grows each and every year. The quicker you join, the less
costly the program is going to cost. The point totals to stay at each vacation resort do not change. However, the price per point may vary.
- Deed at a resort you savor. If you deed there, you'll be able to schedule 11 months in advance. This all but guarantees you a room
anytime you choose.
- For those who are able to help it, do not travel throughout peak times. I absolutely adore Disney World above anyone, but when the lines are long and the parks are undeniably crowded, it's only going to reduce your vacation.
- There will be once-a-year maintenance fees connected with the club. These are dues which are owed in addition to ones own monthly payments. You may combine these costs to your monthly payment, or you can pay for them in one lump sum every single year.
